The Summer holiday this year will be in Kemer, Turkey. My parents have a house in Kemer and we will stay for 2 weeks in July. The plain tickets are booked.
Just 15 years ago Kemer was a rather small village lying quietly between the pine forests of the Tauros mountains and the turquoise Mediterrenean sea. Kemer is a glorious cosmopolitan holiday resort after the villagers realizing that tourism makes better earnings than fishing.

The beach, watersports and restaurants in Kemer can keep everyone well occupied throughout a two-week holiday, but we’d urge you not to miss out on the other attractions. Take a short break from the beach and explore Yoruk Parki, which is a small park between the marina and the beach where you can see how people lived in Turkey hundreds of years ago. Or you can relax under the pine trees and try traditional Turkish food such as Gozleme (a type of dough filled with meat and cheese). A little further afield we also recommend the ruins at Phaselis which is built on a very small peninsula, with two small coves on each side providing the chance to sightsee and sunbathe at the same time.

Easter is almost gone, and tomorrow it’s back to work again. My daughter is coming home again tomorrow. She has been on a 10 days trip to Viareggio, Italy with the Athletic Team. Tonight she’s in Stansted, London and the plane will arrive home at 14.20. I can’t wait to see her again. I have talked to her on the phone and she said that the days have gone really fast!
Outside we have a lot of snow. Hopefully it will smelt away the next week. I look foreward to Spring now, and to work in my garden.
Have a wonderful week!

It’s Sunday evening in the middle of March and the Easter is getting closer. I have to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday…. but then it’s Easter Holiday. I look forward to that.
My daughter traveled on her Ester trip today, to Pisa, Italy. She traveled with her athletics team on training camp. They’ll live in Viareggio, 15 kilometer from Pisa. I guess they’ll have a wonderful stay!
Today we had coffee outside in our garden. The sun was shining:) But in the afternoon, the sun disappered and it became very cold. Guess what? Tonight it has started to snow. My spring feeling is gone:(
But my dear sis Christine painted a beautiful adoption for me today,
and you can adopt it from my Adopt Shop. Isn’t it beautiful?

Now I’m getting tired, but I can’t go to bed before my daughter has called me. She promised to call me when they arrived the hotel in Viareggio:)

I have to show you a beautiful photo.
It’s my youngest sister and her daughter Camilla.
Have a wonderful Sunday evening and a happy week!

Leap day (February 29) is an intercalary day inserted in a leap year. Leap day has been associated with age-old traditions, superstitions and folklore. It is also recognized as a day of observances and celebrated as a birthday for those born on February 29.
Leap day, also known as leap year day, is an extra day added to the month of February in a leap year. February 29 is the 60th day of a leap year in the Gregorian calendar. It occurs every four years in years evenly divisible by four except for centenary years not divisible by 400.
A leap day is more likely to occur on Mondays or Wednesdays rather than other days because the Gregorian calendar repeats itself every 400 years. Therefore February 29 can occur 15 times on a Monday or Wednesday, 14 times on a Friday or Saturday and 13 times on a Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday.

Tradition, Folklore and Superstition.
A tradition was introduced many centuries ago to allow women to propose to men during a leap year. This privilege of proposing was restricted to leap day in some areas. Leap day was sometimes known as “Bachelors’ Day”. A man was expected to pay a penalty, such as a gown or money, if he refused a marriage offer from a woman.
The tradition’s origin stemmed from an old Irish tale referring to St Bridget striking a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men every four years. This old custom was probably made to balance the traditional roles of men and women in a similar way to how the leap day balances the calendar.
It was also considered to be unlucky for someone to be born on a leap day in Scotland and for couples to marry on a leap year, including on a leap day, in Greece.
